Description
In its state plan, the NCCDD sets out the goal that the Council will increase community living for individuals with intellectual and other
developmental disabilities (Objective 2.1). To reach this goal, the NCCDD has committed its funds to to expand and strengthen North Carolina’s capacity to support people with I/DD, who may have traditionally been excluded from living according to supported living principles.
In releasing these funds, the North Carolina Council on Developmental Disabilities (NCCDD) seeks a contractor who will:
1. Develop a statewide capacity-building learning community;
2. Coordinate opportunities for organizational partners and other identified
members of the Learning Community members to receive technical guidance;
3. Demonstrate successful implementation of the supported living definition
through “living examples” and evaluation; and
4. Develop a method to share learning and success stories for individuals not
participating in this effort.
The desired outcome for all activities related to this initiative will be that
individuals interested in choosing the supported living option have organizational
support to live in their own homes.
Budget
In addition to submitting a proposal for this RFA, you must complete the budget form on DD Suite for the first year of your initiative.
A 25% non-Federal match in the amount of $33,334 is required for this initiative. This matching requirement means that 25% of the total initiative budget (Council funds + Match Funds) must come from non-Federal funds (e.g. state, local, agency, and/or private funds). If you have any questions regarding the required match, please contact Steve Strom, Systems Change Manager at RFAinfo@nccdd.org.
